Eyebrows have the power to frame your face,
open up your eyes and give you a more youthful appearance – pretty amazing, right?

Here at Rennard Permanent Cosmetics we live and breathe eyebrows, and understand what a good set of brows can do for a person’s confidence. Semi-permanent brows have been around for a long time, but have really exploded into the beauty world over the past few years. With so many amazing benefits, it’s easy to see why. I create a bespoke brow design individually suited just to you, depending on your preferred style, all of which achieve gorgeous results.

Permanent Eyebrow Styles.

ombre-brows

Ombré or Powder.

One of my most popular treatments, it mimics the look of a powdery makeup effect, ideal for those who pencil their brows in daily. The Ombré style has a faded effect towards the front, with no harsh lines at the start of your brow. This style can look both soft and fluffy, or strong and defined.

hairstrokes permanent brows

Hairstrokes.

Coming soon to Rennard Permanent Cosmetics, this brow technique is ideal for those with minimal to sparse brows who like a fine, feather-like stroke, which is individually placed using a digital machine.

combo permanent brows

Combo.

With a few hairstrokes placed at the beginning of the brow and a more dense powder effect graduating towards the end, this look will create a sleek and natural looking brow.

SMART semi-permanent makeup.

  • Save time in your morning beauty routine – no more agonising over your brows, ensuring they are perfectly symmetrical
  • Never worry about your brows running during a sweaty gym workout or while swimming, or on holiday for that matter
  • Save time and money on monthly beauty appointments, all you’ll need is a quick wax every 6-8 weeks to keep your brows looking sharp
  • Regain your confidence for those who have lost eyebrows due to illness

What to expect during your procedure.

prepare for Permanent Brows

Prepare.

I start the treatment by preparing the brow area, which includes tidying any ‘stray hairs’. We never remove the entire brow. I use every possible hair that fits into your newly created shape to add volume and dimension to your brows making them look as soft and natural as possible.
You’ll then apply your topical ointment to numb the area, to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

mapping permanent brows

Draw.

Next, both you and I together will select the perfect colour for your new brows. I’ll take into consideration your skin undertone and your desired end result.
Then it’s time to get the ruler out and measure. I use your bone structure (not a stencil) as a guide to create the most flattering eyebrow design for you by mapping and drawing, using a cosmetic pencil. You and I will work together to ensure we create the perfect shape just for you.

begin permanent brows

Begin.

And so, the enhancement begins. I use a special digital machine which deposits pigment in a dotting or pixel-type manner. This method is very gentle on the skin and far less traumatic than other techniques. By using this method you will be able to have your brows done for many, many years to come as it doesn’t cause scar tissue injury in that area. Your comfort is my priority.
Once my final tweaks are done, it’s time to get cleaned up and ready for the big reveal.

Once your first application has healed, usually 4-6 weeks later, you will need to return for a touch-up appointment so we can check how your Brows have healed, and apply more colour pigments where required.

Frequently Asked Questions.

What’s the difference between Micropigmentation (PMU) and Microblading?

The microblading method became very well-known a number of years ago as a technique used to create semi-permanent brows. Since then, newer, more advanced digital devices and techniques have been developed and used to achieve similar results, often less invasive and traumatic for the skin.

The PMU device uses a very similar method to that of a conventional tattoo machine. A needle cartridge is attached to a digital device and it creates tiny dots in the top layer of the skin, hardly visible to the naked eye. This method significantly aids the healing period as it delivers far less trauma to the skin and can be performed for many years to come. No scar tissue here!

How long do they take to heal?

Permanent brows typically take 4-6 weeks to heal completely. The first 10 days is the most visibly obvious and crucial time in the healing process and you need to ensure you follow ‘to a tee’ the after-care advice I give you, to ensure your brows heal beautifully. Directly after your treatment, your eyebrows may look darker and more defined than you were expecting. However, on average, most clients don’t have a problem socialising or going out in public straight after their appointment.

It takes 28 days for your skin to turn over new cells. During the healing process your brows will initially look darker – don’t panic, they will fade and soften by up to 40% lighter once healed. They will begin to scab slightly and appear flaky and patchy for a few days. It’s a bit of an emotional roller-coaster but we promise it’s 100% worth it once you see your gorgeous new brows.

At your Touch-up appointment, I will determine how the pigment took in your particular skin and identify what needs filling in, ready for you to enjoy for the next 12-18 months.

How long do brows typically last?

Brows are designed to fade over time and, for many reasons, this is a good thing. Because our face changes shape over time, and styles or fashions change too, we will have the opportunity to fix and adjust as we go.

Often referred to as a semi-permanent makeup, results will vary from person to person. How an individual retains the pigment, will largely depend on their lifestyle. Just a few factors such as sun exposure, immunity and medication can determine how long the cosmetic tattoo will last. This is why it is so important to have an annual colour boost to keep your enhancement colour-fresh and perfect.

Do I have to have eyebrow hairs removed for this treatment?

Absolutely not! Whether you have over-plucked your brows, lost them due to a medical treatment, or you have plenty of brow hair and just want a more defined look, your existing brows will remain intact.

Is there discomfort involved?

The procedure is more gentle than a traditional tattoo or a microblading procedure. The sensation will vary according to each individual. A high quality topical anaesthetic is applied before the procedure to reduce discomfort.

Is cosmetic tattooing right for me?

Almost anyone who desires a permanent makeup enhancement can benefit from skilfully applied cosmetic tattoos. Although there may be some contraindications associated to one’s health, I will determine your suitability during your consultation with me. You are unable to receive the procedure if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under the age of 18.

Is there anything I need to do prior to my appointment?

Yes. Strictly no alcohol, aspirins or painkillers must be taken 24 hours before your appointment. Caffeine must also be avoided. Individuals taking fish oil tablets are required to advise us as these will affect how your tattoo will heal.

An individual using lash growth serum is required to discontinue use for at least 3 months prior to receiving an eyeliner enhancement.
We strongly recommend individuals who suffer from cold sores take/apply anti-viral medication 2 weeks before a Lip Tattoo procedure to help prevent a break out.

Can I wear make-up?

No, you cannot wear makeup directly over the treated area until it has healed, however, makeup elsewhere is fine. Healing time is generally between 5 to 7 days.

As you are to avoid water over the brows during the healing period, we recommend wipes to remove your makeup anywhere close to this area.

How long does it take?

Times vary between treatments from 1.5 hours up to 2.5 hours.

Is it safe?

If proper sterilisation and disinfection guidelines are met, permanent cosmetics are completely safe. I routinely attend Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) classes to become well versed on safety principles. Before you choose your technician it is important to know they are putting safety standards first. Here are a few tips to look out for:

  • All needles should be new and sterile for each client. The needles should be opened in your presence.
  • Disposable sterilised one-time use machine parts should be used by the artist, and disposed of in a sharps container immediately after the procedure has been completed.
  • Personal protection equipment such as disposable one-time use aprons and gloves should be used for each client and changed during the procedure when needed.
  • The technician should be clean and neat.
  • Disposable one-time use chair/bed covering should be new for each client.
  • The treatment area should be decontaminated prior to your appointment

What’s a Touch-Up and do I need it?

Yes. Every skin is different and your body is so smart. It understand that there is a foreign element in the skin and will try its best to get rid of pigment, which is why there may be patchy parts to your brows once healed from the first session. Permanent cosmetic procedures are a process and at least one follow-up to the initial procedure should be scheduled.

How do I take care of my brows?

Ensure that your brows are dry and clean for 2 weeks. This means no swimming, sweating or otherwise getting the area wet. No tanning or prolonged sun exposure least for 10 days after the treatment, and NO scratching or picking at all while they heal as this will pull pigment out and possibly cause infection. Full aftercare treatments and advice will be provided to you after your procedure.

How do I book an appointment?

There is no cost to book a consultation, but you need to secure a date by contacting us directly. After your consultation, should you wish to make an appointment, a £40 non-refundable booking fee will be charged to secure your booking. This will be deducted from the outstanding balance on the day of your treatment.
