Having nurtured my artistic abilities over the years, my design career continues to play an integral part in my journey with Permanent Makeup (PMU). It has set the tone for my “attention to detail”; where every millimetre ‘counts’, and every treatment has to be perfect.

After selling my Company, I took to the high-seas, where I had the most amazing experience of travelling the world. It was on this ship that I met and ultimately married my best buddy, and moved to the UK permanently. Not long after that, my little lady entered the world and I became a proud, fulfilled and often exhausted mum. I guess this is the point I really found the most value in having permanent makeup.

My little mite would only sleep for 20 minutes at a time, and this cycle would repeat all day and all night long (I know I’m not the only mum to
feel this way)! So, WHERE WAS THE TIME FOR MAKEUP in all this?!?!?

I believe woman are amazing, beautiful beings… WE SHOW UP… no matter what. The question of ‘How we show up’, may be with, or without a stitch of makeup on, but that doesn’t matter: we give our all and often get left without.

I remember very well how my new set of permanent brows made me feel the first time I had them done. As strange as it sounds, they really changed my life. My confidence grew, a sense of positivity overcame me and the time I saved in the morning applying my makeup, was unreal. Hey, I was able to “show up – made up”! Whoo hooo!

I fell in love with this artistry and so my journey began. I was desperate to share this empowering, confidence-building solution with other women who, just like me were a bit fed up with trying to put their best self forward under the constant demands of life.

I spent an entire year researching training academies and attending PMU Conferences around the country. To me, it was vital that I studied a world recognised training program from an industry leader, to ensure that I became the best technician I could be for my clients. Through all the research, I had the honour and privilege to be trained by none-other-than Tracey Simpson from Natural Enhancement in London where I qualified with an ITEC Level 4 qualification in Micropigmentation.

I established Rennard Permanent Cosmetics in Shropshire in 2018 and since then I have been deliberate in my dedication to skills development, purposefully seeking out other amazing artists to train under. I have been certified by Master artists Maryann Hoang and Natalia Yeremenko, to name but two, learning their skills and techniques which reinforce and strengthen my abilities and allow me to fine-tune my own treatments.

The ‘thing’ about PMU is that there is no ceiling when it comes to learning. This is an on-going, ever-present journey, where the drive for perfection is constant and one is always striving to maintain excellent standards, and master new and different techniques and materials.
